Round Lace Mother of Pearl Earrings

The refined elegance of a noblewoman from Catania made Mirabella Imbaccari the city of bobbin lace. The Sicilian town is known by all for its lace tradition which, according to some sources, spread in the early twentieth century thanks to Baroness Angelina Auteri, wife of Prince Paternò Castello di Biscari, who hosted four nuns expert in embroidery in her palace - where she loved to spend her holidays - to teach the art to the young women of the town.
